Ultra-Tech Tips for a Smoother Call

In order to have the best Mother’s Day phone call, follow these Ultra-simple tech tips.

  • Connect to Wi-Fi network for better quality (especially if you’re Facetiming!)

Here’s how to check your phone to make sure it’s ready to make international calls:

Make sure to turn on Dial Assist. This automatically adds the correct international prefix when you’re dialing international calls.

Ways to stay connected with mom: send flowers or gift, voice note, video message, group chats, shared photo albums

Can’t Call? Here Are Other Meaningful Ways to Connect

If for some reason you’re not able to get on the phone at the same time as mom, there are lots of other ways to connect! Here are a few other fun and easy free ideas:

Send Flowers or a Gift

If your mom’s love language is gifts (who’s isn’t?), you may want to consider sending a small gift. These days, there are lots of places that allow you to send gift cards to be delivered to her email. And if all else fails, it’s hard to beat a nice bouquet of flowers.

Voice Notes

Sometimes just hearing someone’s voice can brighten your day. Voice-only audio recordings are a great way to let someone know you’re thinking of them.

Video Messages

Coordinating time to FaceTime or get on a video call can be difficult across the world due to time zones. Send a quick video-recorded message to share the love. Bonus: people can replay videos anytime they miss you.

Group Chats

There’s no better way to catch up with the whole family, no matter where you are, than with a group chat. Plus, you can even set up a group chat on social media so you can all send your favorite memes and videos from the internet to each other.

Shared Photo Albums

Keeping family members in the loop across the globe can be made easier with Shared Photo Albums, like on Google Photos or the iOS Photo app. If Mom can’t make a birthday party or your next soccer game, send her the pics and she can be part of the fun too.
