Tired of getting calls from mysterious numbers and never knowing when it’s safe to answer? That’s where Scam Screener comes in handy.
Scam Screener is Ultra Mobile’s newest safety feature, available to all Ultra Mobile customers. Scam Screener identifies suspicious incoming calls, and is your first line of defense against malicious bots and scammers. So you can enjoy your service more without worrying about questionable phone calls.
“Note”
If you activated your plan on or after May 1, 2024 this feature will be automatically applied. If you are an existing customer, this feature will be added to your service during your next monthly plan cycle.

How it works
Scam Screener works by displaying “Scam Likely” on your phone whenever a suspected scam call comes in.
“FYI”
Scam Screener will not work if you have a call forwarding service set up.
This feature will also help you identify what calls to take and which you want to ignore by flagging calls from Telemarketers, for Political reasons, Nuisance, and so on.
These phone calls are flagged by the T-Mobile Network, and will be identifiable now, helping you make educated decisions whether you want to engage or not with incoming calls.
Scam Screener also helps catch spoof calls. If you get a phone call and recognize the caller ID display name but not the associated phone number, it may be a spoofed call. In some cases, calls that play pre-recorded messages may be spoof calls. Scam Screener helps identify spoof calls by tracking phone call behavior, protecting you from malicious caller activity.
These security measures are free of charge with your Ultra Mobile plan and automatic for all Ultra Mobile customers. They cannot be toggled on/off, and no action is required to add them to your plan.

Why am I getting so many spam calls?
Getting frequent spam calls can be very annoying and bothersome. These are the most common reasons why you may be receiving scam calls:
1. Your number is sold in scammer groups
Getting a lot of unwanted scam calls may mean that your number has been sold to a scammer group. Once your number is sold, it may become available to all the scammers who can access that group.
2. You may have picked up an unwanted call
Scammers may continue to target your phone number because you picked up their call once, seeing this as an invitation, and will try to call repeatedly, believing their chances of you answering again are higher. Most of these spam calls from fraudulent professionals are after your personal information.
3. Your number is public
If you own a business, you might have listed your phone number in the public domain to help customers and potential customers contact you. However, we recommend keeping your personal numbers private.
Scammers have the most access to numbers listed publicly and will try to exploit the availability of publicly listed phone numbers by calling repeatedly.
How to stop spam calls
While Scam Screener can help you identify which calls are scam or robo-calls, there are things you can do to further decrease the number of scam calls you receive.

The national Do Not Call list protects landline and wireless phone numbers. You can register your numbers on the national Do Not Call list at no cost by calling 1-888-382-1222 (voice) or 1-866-290-4236 (TTY). You must call from the phone number you wish to register.
Fortunately, you can block spam calls.

When will Scam Screener be available on my plan?

We hope this new feature makes enjoying your Ultra Mobile service even easier without the added stress of scam calls.
