Everything You Need to Know About The Ultra Mobile Family Plan

What is the Ultra Mobile Family Plan?
Customers looking to create an Ultra Mobile Family Plan must start with our 40GB Unlimited plan. Any user subscribed to our 40GB Unlimited plan for $49/month can add up to four secondary lines for just $24/month each. Existing Ultra customers can switch to our 40GB unlimited plan to create an Ultra Mobile Family Plan or new customers can activate on the 40GB Unlimited plan and create a Ultra Mobile Family Plan.
Who can join a Family Plan?
Both new and existing Ultra Mobile customers are eligible to join an Ultra Mobile Family Plan to get the best price on our Unlimited plan. A new or existing user can elect to be the Primary line or be added to an Ultra Mobile Family Plan as a Secondary line to get our Unlimited plan for just $24/month.

How does the Family Plan work?
With Family Plan, each subscriber gets their own Ultra Mobile Unlimited plan. To get started, you have to decide who will be the Primary line. This can be an existing Ultra Mobile subscriber on an Unlimited plan, or a newly activated subscriber on our 1-month Unlimited Plan. The primary line has to be on a $49 plan to start an Ultra Mobile Family Plan. They can add newly activated numbers as Secondary lines at $24/each or send invites to existing customers to join their Family Plan. Existing customers who are invited to join an Ultra Mobile Family Plan and accept the invite are switched to the $24 unlimited family plan at the start of their next plan cycle. Below is an example of how Family plan works:
- Activate a Primary line with a 1-month Unlimited Plan for $49/month
- Activate up to four additional numbers to be added as Secondary lines for just $24/mo
- The Primary line can then add these additional lines to their Family Plan via the Ultra Mobile app or the website
- Easily manage all lines under the Primary line via the Ultra Mobile app or the website

Primary line vs Secondary line Guidelines
Here are some important things to know before establishing an Ultra Mobile Family Plan:
- A Primary line cannot be changed once it’s been activated and established as the Primary line
- The Primary line can’t be determined until after activation. Users will be asked whether a line is intended to be the Primary or Secondary when creating a Family Plan if a Primary hasn’t been established yet.
- The Primary line must be activated & established first. If a user chooses Secondary when creating a Family Plan before a Primary line has been assigned, they will receive an error message advising to establish a Primary line first.
How do I add a Secondary line to my Family Plan?
Once you’ve established a Primary line, that line will then add Secondary lines to create an Ultra Mobile Family Plan. New customers can be activated and added as Secondary lines and existing Ultra Mobile customers can be invited to join an Ultra Mobile Family Plan.
Inviting an existing Ultra subscriber to your Family Plan in the Ultra Mobile app:
- Select the Manage Family tab
- Click on Create a Family and then Invite an Existing User
- Enter their phone number (an invitation will be sent to them containing a 6-digit confirmation code)
- The Primary line then enters the 6-digit code that was sent to the new Secondary on the Validate Code screen in the app
- Once the code is accepted, the Primary line pays for the Secondary line’s new $24/mo Unlimited plan
- Once the payment goes through, the new Secondary line is added to the Family Plan. No new activation is necessary
Activating & adding a new number as a Secondary line to your Family Plan:
- Select the Manage Family tab
- Click on Order a New Line
- Enter the number of lines you want to order (max 4)
- Click on Checkout
- You will be taken to the website to complete your purchase and activation
- Once the purchase is complete, the Secondary line is added to the family under the Pending tab in the Manage Family screen
- Once the Secondary activates their plan, either with an eSIM (they can do this right after purchase) or with a Physical SIM, they will become an active Secondary line

Do I share features with the other members of my Family Plan?
Not at all. Each line on an Ultra Mobile Family Plan will have:

- Unlimited Talk & Text in Mexico and Canada*

How do I pay for my Family Plan?
You can renew your Family Plan each month at an Ultra Mobile Retailer near you or by logging in to your Ultra Mobile account and selecting “Renew.” Keep in mind, our Family Plan must be renewed as a bundle. You cannot renew each line separately.
How flexible is the Family Plan?
Primary lines can remove Secondary lines from a Family Plan or add Secondary lines (max four) with no restrictions. Secondary lines can also remove themselves from a Family Plan at any time. However, Primary lines can NOT be removed from an Ultra Mobile Family Plan, so be sure to choose your Primary wisely.
