How do I switch from Tello to Ultra Mobile?

Making the switch to Ultra Mobile from Tello can be finished in just a few minutes with these easy steps.

1. Prepare for the Switch

First, check that your phone is compatible with Ultra Mobile and that we have coverage where you need it most. For in-depth help, here’s our how to switch to Ultra Mobile landing page.

2. Bring Your Own Phone 

If you see that your phone is compatible and want to bring your own phone with you to Ultra, make sure it’s unlocked. 

3. Bring Your Own Number or Get a New One

f you want to bring your own number over to Ultra, make sure you have active service with Tello until your Ultra activation is complete. Then, gather these essential details:

  • Account Number:
    1. Log in to your Tello account via desktop (your account number is not available in the mobile app)
    2. Go to the Porting tab
    3. Under Port Out, click Information, then Retrieve Port Out Information
    4. Your Account Number will appear on this page
  • Tello Port-Out PIN:
    1. In the same Port Out section, click Generate Temporary Port Out PIN
    2. A unique, time-sensitive PIN will be displayed. Write it down or copy it carefully, because you’ll need this PIN when you activate your Ultra Mobile SIM or eSIM to transfer your number.

If you want a new phone number, then all you need to do is provide us with your home ZIP code at activation so we can generate one for you based on your location.
