How do I switch from h2o Wireless to Ultra Mobile?
Now that you’ve decided to join the Ultra family, it’s time to officially make the switch. Let’s go over what to do before, during and after you’ve made the switch.
1. Prepare for the Switch
Make absolute sure Ultra Mobile is going to work for you by checking your phone’s compatibility with our network and the coverage in your area. Make sure you look at home as well as where you work and any other areas where you spend most of your time. For more tips on switching, you can also visit our How to Switch page.
2. Bringing Your Own Phone?
If you are bringing your own phone, in addition to being compatible with our network, it must also be unlocked. For more information on bringing your own phone to Ultra, visit our BYOP page.
3. Bring Your Own Number (or Get a New One)
If you would like to bring your h2o wireless number over to Ultra, there are a few things you need to do before you activate your Ultra Mobile account.
Don’t cancel your h2o Wireless service yet
If you cancel your h2o Wireless account before transferring your number to Ultra, the number will be lost.
Gather essential account details
To bring your number to Ultra, you’ll need your h2o Wireless Account Number, Account PIN or Number Transfer PIN and billing ZIP Code.
Have h2o Wireless release your number
Contact h2o Wireless’ customer support (1-800-643-4926) and ask them to release your number and provide your “port out” account number.
“NOTE”
Some users report the account number is not the same as their phone number (it may be an 8-digit code).
Get your h2o Wireless account PIN Number
While on the phone with their customer support, h2o may require you to provide 3 most recent outgoing calls (or another form of validation) before giving you your PIN.
“NOTE”
h2o customers often report that the PIN is the last 4 digits of their SIM card.
If you want a new Ultra Mobile phone number, all you need to do is provide us with your home ZIP code during the activation process and we’ll give you one based on your location.

4. Choose the best plan for you
We offer data plans ranging from 500MB up to Unlimited (with all plans including Unlimited Talk & Text). If you’re not sure which plan is right for you, you can read more about how our plans work here and even take a short quiz that will match you to the ideal plan.
5. Choose your SIM Preference
Ultra Mobile supports SIM cards and eSIM. You can have a physical SIM card mailed to you within about 3-5 business days. If your phone is eSIM-compatible, you can opt to activate with an eSIM in minutes. Not sure? You can check if your phone supports eSIM with just a few clicks.
